The number and size of wires in a strand, and the number of strands in a trope vary according to the rope application. Strength, flexibility, resistance to abrasion and other characteristics dictate the rope you ultimately select. The equipment must also be considered -the tup0e and size of drums and pulley the load and the speed at which they will operate, etc.
